think-ink

i&i: imagine and illustrate 2017



Have you ever felt frustrated because book covers and illustrations didn't match up to
your own imagination? Or tried to visualize a scene from a book?

It's time for our second book-based art competition, i&i: imagine and illustrate 2017!


PROMPT:

1. Design a book cover for your favourite book. Include a short introduction of the book with its title, author name, and why you enjoy it/how it was like reading it for the first time.

OR

2. Create a piece of art (drawing, painting, collage, mixed medium etc.) which depicts a scene from, or a character from a book. Include a short introduction of the book with its title, author name, and why you chose to depict that scene/character. 




SUBMISSIONS:
Please submit your artworks as a digital scan/image, PDF preferably,
and email it as an attachment to yoickydoick@gmail.com.

IMPORTANT: Include your short introduction, your name, your age,
and your contact details (mailing address and email address)
in the body of your email. 



DEADLINE:
The deadline for submissions is 12th November, 12 midnight.
Results will be announced on 14th November on the think-ink website;
winner will be notified personally by email, and receive prize through the mail.


PRIZE:
1st and 2nd prizes will be awarded and announced closer to the date.
Winning artwork and runner-ups will be showcased on the think-ink website.


QUALIFICATIONS:
There are no age limits or restrictions on mediums! Just send us your best work.
Limited to one entry per person.

We're thrilled to have Ms Tan Sze Fong as our judge for this competition!

Ms.Tan Sze Fong graduated with B.A. Hons in Printed Textiles from Middlesex University U.K. She lectured at NAFA's School of Fashion Studies from 1993 - 1998. She initiated the Textile Design department there. In 2006, Ms.Tan founded SF Galleries Art Studio (ww.sfgalleries.sg) where she conducts children and adult classes. Ms.Tan has been teaching at CHIJ Katong Primary since 2011. Since 2016, she has been conducting workshops to corporations.
